Rijeka to Dubrovnik aboard M/S Emanuel

Day 1 · Rijeka

Arrive at the coastal city of Rijeka and embark MS Emanuel at 2.00pm to start your Croatia cruise charter adventure.
Rijeka was established in the 13th Century and came into its own in 1728 when it was connected with Zagreb by road. Its extremely rugged coastline is dotted with beautiful protected bays. This evening we undertake a short sightseeing town tour and overnight in Rijeka.


Day 2 · Rijeka / Cres

Today after breakfast we will start our Croatia cruise day by sailing towards island of Cres. Cres is the largest island in Kvarner Bay and visitors are attracted to the former in particular by the plants and animals, the indented coast, the sea and the solitude. Cres and Mali Lošinj used to be one island but a channel was dug by the Romans separated them and on that “border” between two islands is situated town of Osor.

Town of Cres is second largest town in the Cres and Losinj Archipelago The Venetians had the greatest impact in the 14th century. Their influence is clearly visible in the numerous churches, palaces, town gates and towers that you will see while walking along the narrow streets and alleys of this small North Adriatic town. Overnight in Cres.


Day 3 · Cres / Mali Losinj

This mornings cruise Croatia day will start by setting sail for Mali Losinj, a favoured health resort area.
Sailing through the Kvarner Gulf we will have an opportunity for a swim in one of its many beautiful bays.
By the 19th century Mali Losinj developed into the second most important port in the Adriatic and its inhabitants were widely known as the best seamen in the Mediterranean. Overnight in Mali Losinj.


Day 4 · Mali Losinj / Zadar

Today at 10 AM we will set sail for the Kornati Islands National Park. We will enjoy the magnificent view of 140 islands and islets of exceptional beauty and their small fishing villages and picturesque shores. Overnight at Kornati Islands and finish our day 4 of Croatia cruise charter vacation.


Day 5 · Zadar / National Park Kornati

Today at 10 AM we will set sail for the Kornati Islands National Park. We will enjoy the magnificent view of 140 islands and islets of exceptional beauty and their small fishing villages and picturesque shores. Overnight at Kornati Islands.


Day 6 · National Park Kornati / National Park Krka / Sibenik

Depart early morning and sail for Skradin travelling for approx 8 miles up river through fascinating gorge country. On arrival we transfer to a local ferry boat to visit the magnificent Krka waterfalls.
Later that afternoon we return to the city of Sibenik and upon arrival take a short walking tour of this ancient city. Overnight at Sibenik.


Day 7 · Sibenik / Trogir / Split

Today we set sail for Trogir which is known as a “city museum” and is listed in UNESCO’s world heritage list. Here we will take a 1hour walking tour and breathe in the depth of history which is so apparent.
After lunch we set sail for the nearby island of Drvenik anchoring in one of its bays for a short swim before heading for the Split, the second largest city in Croatia. After dinner on board we will be entertained by a group of local musicians. Overnight at Split.


Day 8 · Split / Pucisca

This morning we undertake a short sightseeing tour of Split featuring the ancient Diocletian Palace [a World Heritage Site], Jupiter’s Temple, the 1700 year old Cathedral of Saint Domnius and the famous Split markets.
After which we set sail for the town of Pucisca on the north-east side of the island of Brac. Pucisca is famed for its white stone that has been used for centuries in the building of palaces and cathedrals throughout the world and more notably the White house in USA. We will visit a masonry school in the afternoon.
Overnight in Pucisca.


Day 9 · Pucisca / Bol / Hvar

After breakfast we sail to Bol to visit one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic coast, known as Zlatni Rat or Golden Cape. We will disembark at Bol where there will be an opportunity to explore or take a mini train to the famous beach for a swim.
After lunch we will continue our cruise to Hvar Island and the port of Hvar. The harbor of Hvar is small and extremely busy so this afternoon we anchor just outside the entrance. Later we transfer by local boat to Hvar town and undertake a short walking tour along the waterfront promenade and through the Old Town featuring a wealth of historic medieval and Renaissance buildings. This evening we will have dinner ashore at the nice Restaurant situated near the promenade.
There will be free time after dinner for shopping or further sightseeing before returning to our boat at 10.00pm to spend a peaceful night at anchor in the bay.


Day 10 · Hvar / Vis

Early this morning we depart for the port of Vis situated on the island Vis. Under the former Yugoslavia Vis was used a military base and for many years was closed to tourists. During WW2 it was the headquarters for Tito and was regularly visited by Churchill’s intelligence officers who assisted with his fight against the German invaders. This morning we head of on a coach tour of the island including a visit to the secret cave from which Tito directed his forces, the British wartime airport and to a local winery for wine and brandy tasting and local snack. Overnight in Vis.


Day 11 · Vis / Korcula

This morning we head to the island of Bisevo and visit the famous Blue Grotto Blue Cave which was proclaimed as a national natural heritage in 1951. It is a cave with an entrance from the sea with unique form that enables the suns reflected rays to create a fascinating blueness. This unique sight can only be seen on a sunny day when the sea is calm.
Later this morning we set sail for the island of Korcula and the city of Korcula reputed to be the birthplace of Marco Polo. Korcula town is another ancient walled city and contains a wealth of artistic masterworks including paintings by Tintoretto. Overnight in Korcula.


Day 12 · Korcula / National Park Mljet / Trstenik

This morning we sail for the island of Mljet, one of 8 Croatian National Parks with lovely pine forests and jewel-like lakes. We sightsee here, taking a boat cruise on the lake to the ancient church of St Mary.
After lunch we head towards the Peljesac peninsula and the small town of Trstenik where we will have a wine tasting at the Grgic winery made famous by Mike Grgic of Nappa Valley fame. Overnight in Trstenik.


Day 13 · Trstenik / Dubrovnik

After breakfast we depart Trstenik for a quite bay on the island of Jakljan for a relaxing swim before sailing into Dubrovnik – the pearl of the Adriatic.
Dubrovnik is a breathtaking sight, entirely surrounded by massive grey walls of stone, interspersed with four gates, three forts, five bastions and 14 square towers. It contains a treasure-trove of medieval art and architecture that has earned it a designation as a UN World Heritage Site.
Mid-afternoon we will join in on a city tour of Dubrovnik. We will drive by coach to a new, panoramic road view point with a wonderful view of Dubrovnik and its entire Riviera. Our coach will then take us to Pile Gate where we will start our walking tour along the famous Stradun visiting Dubrovnik’s highlights such as the Franciscan Monastery with one of the oldest pharmacies in Europe, the Rector’s
Palace and the Cathedral. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Tonight we enjoy special farewell dinner and musical entertainment as we prepare to say goodbye to MS Emanuel.


Day 14 · Dubrovnik

Today after breakfast we disembark at 9.00am and bid farewell to MS Emanuel and crew.
